Yeah. They changed it so that his new companions are the newbies(they started with Serina, then Lily and now Go) and Ash is kind a like Saitama where he's the experienced party member that tags along and shares his wisdom from time to time.

Champion battle! Though Ash doesn't reveal his status as Alola's 1st ever champion until episode 76. Also, Iris has always been calling him a kid despite that she behaves more immaturely here.

Man, it would be cool to see him. TBH Gary as a deutreginist would have been better. Gary is a researcher, he also wants to catch all interesting pokemon and you know what he is an amazing battler (which is kinda needed when you want to capture stronger pokemons and not having Goh's baseball)

Let's accept the fact that he would never capture a legedary. at best he befriends them or raises them when they're babies. But for the rest I agree. he has some really strong pokemon from his past adventures. Some left to LITERALLY train to become stronger. And since he's not the one promoting the new Pokemon anymore(that's now Go's job) he has NO excuse bringing back his other pokemon.

And in terms of training. since we've seen him train his pokemon on screen for years. I think they moved it to off screen for the most part. And I personally think it's a fine change, since we know that it is in his character to train in his free time. Hell in Sun and moon we are hinted that his pokemon train on their own at home.

Unlike in the games The Legendaries in the anime are essential to the ecosystem and balance of the planet. Which is why I assume the best Ash can do is befriend or raise them. I mean... every movie we were given shows how it's BAD to catch them.

Hell, Go did catch Suicune but- one, it was done to rescue it. and two, the last scene makes it seem that it is still given the freedom to protect and rule it's domain. It's not stuck in the lab with the other Pokemon.

If Go really "Captured Suicune" don't you think he would have it as a companion when they travel? Plus, I think Ash gaining the trust of Legendaries feels more powerful than him catching them.

That makes sense,but what's the point of trust if you're not going to be with each other,
Let's just see how they deal with it later in series
